Fei worked in the Oldham lab from October 2023 to February 2026. He studied the metabolic pathways that contribute to myofibroblast differentiation and extracellular matrix production in experimental models of pulmonary fibrosis, and showed that TGF-β coordinates alanine synthesis and import to support myofibroblast differentiation.
