Aseel Khalil

Graduate Student

PhD student working on alanine transport in pulmonary fibrosis, and on methods to measure the biomechanics of lung matrix.

Education and Training

PhD Candidate, Pathobiology In progress Brown University, Providence, RI

ScM in Biotechnology 2025 Brown University, Providence, RI

BS in Medical and Molecular Biology 2023 Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Boston, MA

Aseel joined the lab in March 2026 as a graduate student in the Pathobiology Graduate Program. She is continuing the lab’s work on alanine transport in pulmonary fibrosis, and is developing methods to measure the biomechanical properties of lung extracellular matrix. She completed a master’s degree at Brown, where she built organoid-derived monolayer models to study host immune responses to Candida infection.
